Ken started as PRID Superintendent on July 1, 2016.   He holds a graduate degree from Utah State University in Agriculture Economics.  Ken, Wendy (his wife), and family own and operate a 140 acre hay and horse ranch northeast of Ignacio.  He brings a unique background to the Superintendent's position.  He is an avid fly fisherman, hunter, and outdoor enthusiast,  His recreation interests are complimented by his love of horses and his ability to access hard to reach remote wilderness areas with saddle and pack horses.  He is a PRID irrigator and shareholder.  Ken also has a rich background with the BOR where he worked as an Agricultural Economist, team leader, field office divison supervisor, and field office manager over his 31 years with BOR.  He and Wendy have 5 children and 17 grandchildren.  Ken's passions and interests are wildlife, fisheries, raising quality horses, and sharing these passions and interests with his grandkids.  His number one objective as Superintendent is to promote a harmonious, healthy,  balanced, and transparent relationship among municiple, industrial and recreation water users, the BOR, and the irrigators, while protecting the agricultural water rights of Indian and non-indian agricultural user.  Ken believes that the agriculture community is the principle caretaker of the land and wildlife that preserve Colorado's unique and natural beauty, which makes it such a desirable place to visit, to vacation, and more importantly, to call home.
